Safeguarding Policy

1. Introduction

Creative Performance Limited is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for all individuals involved in our activities. This policy outlines our approach to safeguarding children, young people, and vulnerable adults, ensuring their protection from harm, abuse, and exploitation.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all staff, volunteers, trustees, and contractors working with or on behalf of Creative Performance Limited. It covers all activities and events organized by the charity.

3. Definitions

• Child: Any person under the age of 18.

• Vulnerable Adult: A person aged 18 or over who is unable to take care of themselves or protect themselves from harm or exploitation.

• Safeguarding: Protecting individuals from abuse, harm, and neglect.

4. Policy Statement

Creative Performance Limited believes that:

• The welfare of children and vulnerable adults is paramount.

• All individuals, regardless of age, disability, gender, racial heritage, religious belief, sexual orientation, or identity, have the right to equal protection from all types of harm or abuse.

• Working in partnership with children, vulnerable adults, their parents, carers, and other agencies is essential in promoting welfare.

5. Safeguarding Responsibilities

• Trustees: Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are in place and reviewed annually.

• Designated Safeguarding Officer (DSO): Oversee the implementation of safeguarding policies and act as the main point of contact for safeguarding concerns.

• Staff and Volunteers: Comply with the safeguarding policy and report any concerns to the DSO.

6. Code of Conduct

All staff and volunteers must:

• Treat everyone with respect and dignity.

• Listen to and act upon any concerns raised by children or vulnerable adults.

• Follow appropriate procedures for intimate and personal care.

• Avoid being alone with a child or vulnerable adult where possible.

• Never engage in inappropriate physical or verbal contact.

7. Recruitment and Training

• Recruitment: All prospective staff and volunteers must undergo a thorough recruitment process, including background checks and references.

• Training: All staff and volunteers will receive safeguarding training appropriate to their role and responsibilities.

8. Reporting and Responding to Concerns

• Any concerns about the welfare of a child or vulnerable adult must be reported immediately to the DSO.

• The DSO will record and investigate all concerns following the charity’s safeguarding procedures.

• In cases of immediate danger, contact emergency services.

9. Confidentiality

All concerns and information regarding safeguarding will be handled confidentially and shared only with those who need to know to ensure the safety and well-being of the individual.

10. Monitoring and Review

This policy will be reviewed annually by the trustees and updated as necessary to reflect changes in legislation or best practices.
