February 2012: Unity Centre’s Olympics-themed workshops.
Young people created many flags of the countries that participated in the Olympics. Participated in cooking Olympic foods from Europe and were involved in some of the sporting exercises which were at the Olympics such as running races and acrobatics.

October 2011: Unity Centre’s Black History Festival
We worked with the children helping them to be aware of prominent Black Leaders through art and craft; recognize black food in healthy eating workshops. Other activities were Black yoga and Capoeira – a dance and physical exercise art form which originates from Brazil. They also visited The London Museum to listen to the history of classical storytelling and calypso music.

July – August 2010 : Unity Centre’s Summer Festival
For the last couple of years we have been working at The Unity Centre running workshops and highlighting the children’s work through Showcases. The children were also taken out on trips to see The Lion King.

2009 – Toured – Leona Nearly Does Not Make It To The Circus – Schools in Hounslow
This was a drama and circus related play followed by workshops and discussions. We visited many schools in Hounslow.

July – August 2009: Produced Hillingdon Summer Festival toured all the playschemes in Hillingdon
We toured Hillingdon playschemes and ran circus skills workshops throughout the summer.

March 2008: Toured Drugbusters at Brent’s youth clubs
This was a theatre-in-education project highlighting the dangers of being roped into taking drugs and making young people aware of addictive behaviour.

July – August 2005: Produced Brent Summer Festival touring all the libraries in Brent
This Festival toured all the libraries in Brent and consisted of hosting visiting performers such as Magicians; Clowns; Wizards and Puppeteers to perform.

1999 – 2001: Creative Performance After School Arts Club based at Willesden Green Library
This work consisted of running after school workshops in drama; physical theatre; and dance with showcases.
